It argues that there are at least two dominant ways in which sustainable development currently makes sense, and that these two senses of sustainable development are mutually incommensurable and in fact radically opposed with respect to how they interpret the meaning of reforming education in the name of developing sustainably. Rather than attempting to resolve this conflict I argue that educators must acknowledge that negotiating with this divergence of interpretations and this problem of making sense of sustainable development is an essential part of the challenge of thinking about education for tomorrow. %G English %2 https://hal.science/hal-03727201/document %2 https://hal.science/hal-03727201/file/CosTECH_Tabas_avril_2022.pdf %L hal-03727201 %U https://hal.science/hal-03727201 %~ SHS %~ ENSTA-BRETAGNE %~ CNAM %~ CDFT-CNAM %~ ENSTA-BRETAGNE-SHS %~ AO-PHILOSOPHIE %~ FAP %~ TEST3-HALCNRS %~ HESAM-CNAM %~ HESAM %~ INSTITUT-AGRO
